Recreation and Culture: Maumelle offers exceptional golf, outstanding fitness facilities, and abundant recreational and cultural activities.
Parks & Recreation: Maumelle residents enjoy sports, swimming, exercising and community events at the Jess Odom Community Center, which opened officially in August 2002. Administered by the City’s Parks & Recreation Departments, leagues are available for youths age 5 to 15 and adults 18 and older in a variety of sports including baseball, softball, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, and soccer. Memberships for the center are very affordable. The entire family can make use of the Center’s health club and swimming pool. Maumelle is home to two of the State’s best golf courses. The Maumelle Country Club’s18-hole course overlooks the Arkansas River and Pinnacle Mountain. The Country Club of Arkansas features a public 18-hole course with spectacular views as it winds its way through designated wetlands in the area. Maumelle also hosts regular cultural events such as FamilyFest, FourthFest, Movies in the Park and holiday events. The Maumelle Arts Council www.maumelleartscouncil.org/ assists the city with art programs in the schools and at the Senior Wellness Center. Local artists donate their time and talent. MAC also facilitates many programs for residents like Shakespeare in the Park, the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra and a Cinderella production. Each November, MAC hosts a Writers' Conference with attendees coming from all around the region.

Two 18 hole golf courses intermingle within the city of Maumelle, one on each side of Highway 100-Maumelle Boulevard. Maumelle Country Club is an 18 hole semi- private course with a driving range and putting green area. The facilities include a club house for meetings, wedding receptions or parties. Country Club of Arkansas is located on the west side of the Boulevard and is a public course but memberships are available. Facilities include a large open driving range, pro shop, and open veranda to enjoy views of the course. Food and drink is available from the snack bar. www.countryclubofarkansas.com
Twenty-six miles of Walking/Biking Trails are availble within the Maumelle City limits. These paths are indicated on the Official Maumelle City Map . Walk, run or ride 8 miles beyond our limits to the "Big Dam Bridge" www.bigdambridge.com/maps.htm located in the Northshore area off Crystal Hill Road in North Little Rock. Both are great for biking and dog walking too.
Children Activities: Playground equipment for young children is located at Lake Willastein in Maumelle. There are great places to fish or boat using small non-motorized boats. There's plenty of areas for walking or riding bikes. Lake Valencia also has fishing (stocked) and is next to the expanded Maumelle Library where you can check out a fishing pole! Burns Park – 38 Campsites: Burns Park Campground offers Tent and RV camping with 50-30 AMP service available. Restrooms and heated showers for campers only! Cost: 50 AMP Service - $20, 30 AMP Service - $18, Tent Sites - $14, Weekly winter rate available. They accept certain discount groups such as the Golden Age (inquire about specific types at time of reservation or check-in). Rules of the Campground: Reservation not required, but encouraged.
